The Ngoshe Stakeholders Forum has commended the Federal Government, the Borno State Government, and Troops of Operation Hadin Kai for rescuing 360 residents of Ngoshe who were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents. The victims spent approximately three months in captivity before regaining their freedom and reuniting with their families.

Addressing journalists in Maiduguri, the Chairman of the Forum, Professor Suleiman Bello, described the successful release of the abductees as a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to restore peace, security, and normalcy in communities affected by insurgency.
Professor Bello also dissociated the Forum from a group known as the “Borno South Youth Alliance,” dismissing claims that the group played any role in facilitating the release of the abductees. He described such claims as false, misleading, and an attempt to misrepresent the realities surrounding the operation, stressing that the group does not speak for the people of Ngoshe.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting lawful, collaborative, and community-driven efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, security, and sustainable development in Ngoshe and other communities affected by insurgency.
The Forum further expressed appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the successful efforts that led to the victims’ freedom and called for sustained support for military operations and rehabilitation programmes across the region.
