Tunji Disu Leads Crackdown on Criminal Hideout in FCT 

In a decisive move to bolster security in the Federal Capital T erritory (FCT) ahead of the festive season, the FCT Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu, psc, successfully dismantled a criminal hideout at the Timber Market in Dei-Dei on November 21, 2024.

The operation, spearheaded by detectives from the Dei-Dei ‘B’ Division, was based on credible intelligence and aimed at curbing rising incidents of crime in the area. Key Arrests and Discoveries The raid resulted in the arrest of four suspects: ● Nura Halilu ● Salim Mohammed ● Saifullahi Usman ● Usman Mohammed.

The hideout, allegedly owned by their gang leader who remains at large, was identified as a hub for drug peddling, stolen phones, and other illicit activities. Items recovered during the operation include: ● One (1) locally made gun ● Three (3) live cartridges and three (3) expended cartridges ● Four (4) knives.

A substantial quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp One of the suspects, Ismail T asiu, popularly known as “Old School, ” confessed to operating in the area for over a decade. Another suspect, Nura Halilu, revealed his involvement in an armed robbery and drug-dealing syndicate led by a fugitive named Murtala.

The Commissioner of Police affirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend their leader and other accomplices. Speaking on the success of the raid, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, assured the public of the Command’s commitment to eradicating crime and maintaining law and order across the territory.
