The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has called on members of the Auto Spare Parts & Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) to remain committed to ethical business practices, product quality, and innovation to sustain industrial growth and economic prosperity in Nigeria.

Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebration of ASPAMDA, the Executive Director of Operations at NSITF, Mojisola Ali-Macaulay, emphasized the importance of ethical business conduct in maintaining Nigeria’s industrial and economic framework. She was represented at the event by NSITF’s General Manager for Informal Economy, Chika Onyewuchi.

Ali-Macaulay highlighted ASPAMDA’s critical role in the automotive and machinery sector, noting that its contributions extend beyond commerce to ensuring the safety and efficiency of businesses nationwide.

“For over two decades, ASPAMDA has played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s automotive and machinery sector, providing essential spare parts, tools, and equipment that sustain industries, transportation, and businesses across the country,” Ali-Macaulay stated.

“Your contributions ensure the safety, efficiency, and productivity of key sectors that support the Nigerian economy,” she added.

She further reaffirmed NSITF’s commitment to safeguarding Nigerian workers through its Employees’ Compensation Scheme, which provides financial protection against workplace-related risks.

She stressed that just as ASPAMDA ensures the availability of quality spare parts to keep machinery and vehicles functioning, NSITF remains committed to protecting workers from occupational hazards, ensuring their security and welfare.

“As we mark this historic occasion, I urge ASPAMDA members to continue with their dedication to ethical business practices, product quality, and innovation.

“At NSITF, we are committed to supporting businesses like yours by advocating for safe work environments and ensuring that social insurance policies align with the evolving needs of Nigerian industries,” she added.

Ali-Macaulay also called for a stronger collaboration between NSITF and ASPAMDA, emphasizing the need for a robust partnership that ensures business sustainability while prioritizing the well-being of workers and their families.

In her closing remarks, she congratulated ASPAMDA on reaching this significant milestone and expressed optimism for even greater success in the years ahead.

Also speaking at the event, the Regional Manager of NSITF Mainland Region, Lagos, Agboma Obiaku Okoroafor, highlighted the various benefits of the scheme, which include death and disability benefits, medical expense refunds, compensation for loss of productivity, and access to prosthetic and assistive devices.

She reaffirmed NSITF’s commitment to supporting businesses and protecting workers from financial hardship due to work-related incidents.

“With NSITF, you are not alone—together, we can build a workforce that is not only productive but also protected,” Okoroafor said.

ASPAMDA President, Ngozi Emechebe, in his address, appreciated the recognition and pledged the association’s continued commitment to ethical standards and industrial development in Nigeria.
