A two-day high-level workshop is underway in Abuja to address stereotyping and ethnic profiling in security discourse across West Africa. Organised by Beacon Security and Intelligence Limited @BeaconNg in collaboration with key stakeholders, the event will be held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) within the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Government officials security practitioners researchers and media professionals will gather to explore the impact of language and narratives in conflict reporting and security operations.

The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to ongoing efforts to strengthen peace, promote responsible security reporting, and enhance resilience in Nigeria and the wider West African region.
