Senator Buhari Mourns the Passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, Ph.D, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, political associates, Federal Government, and Nigerians over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

The Senator dropped his condolences in a press release issued today and made available to Journalists in Abuja.

According to Senator Buhari, the news that the former President passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 82, in a London clinic where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness was a rude shock.

The Lawmaker identified President Buhari as a leader with unwavering commitment, who dedicated his life to serving Nigeria, making immense sacrifices, including compromising his health, to ensure the country’s progress.

The Senator noted that President Buhari’s strong heart and commitment to protecting the lives and properties of fellow Nigerians earned him respect and admiration from many, and so the memory will forever linger in their hearts.

Remembering his legacy, The Legislator said that the entire people of Oyo North Senatorial District will forever remember President Buhari’s highly appreciative leadership, not only to them but to Nigerians as a whole.

“His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of leaders and citizens alike,” Senator Buhari said.

Senator Buhari prayed that “Allah SWT grants President Buhari’s soul eternal rest, with Aljannat Firdaous as his final abode. May the family, friends, and all those who knew him find solace in the memories of his remarkable life and leadership”.

The Senator also extended his condolences to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party that President Buhari led to remarkable victories. The APC family will miss his leadership, wisdom, and mentorship, which will forever be etched in the party’s history.

He also condoled with the Federal Government, led by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the loss of a great leader and statesman. May President Tinubu find the strength to lead the nation during this difficult time, and may the legacy of President Buhari continue to guide him in his leadership journey.
