…Seun Faleye Leads Effort to Bolster Impactful Service Delivery.
In a renewed effort to strengthen ties and enhance staff welfare, the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have agreed to deepen their collaboration. This decision was reached during a high-level meeting between officials of both organizations, where the Comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, reiterated the NCS’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its workforce through impactful partnerships.
Alhaji Adeniyi emphasized the need for more effective and robust services from NSITF, particularly in areas related to the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS), which provides social security benefits for workers in the event of workplace accidents or injuries. He noted that Customs personnel, who are key players in national revenue generation and border security, deserve the best possible welfare provisions.
During the meeting, NSITF Managing Director, Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye, assured the NCS of the Fund’s dedication to delivering quality services. He outlined NSITF’s current efforts to streamline and enhance service delivery, specifically targeting areas that impact the welfare of Customs employees.
Faleye, who was accompanied by Executive Director of Operations Mojisolaoluwa Alli Macaulay, Executive Director of Finance and Investment Mr. Adedeji Adegoke, and other senior NSITF officials, described the partnership with NCS as essential for achieving mutual goals. He further committed to addressing any existing gaps in service delivery and ensuring that Customs staff receive the benefits they are entitled to.
As a key outcome of the meeting, both organizations agreed to establish a joint technical committee tasked with addressing specific challenges and devising strategies for improved collaboration. This committee will work on implementing reforms and initiatives that will enhance the services provided by NSITF to Customs personnel.
Faleye highlighted that this collaborative approach would not only ensure that Customs staff benefit from the Employees Compensation Scheme but also drive continuous improvement in service delivery. “We are committed to making our services more impactful and ensuring that all workers under the NCS are adequately covered and protected,” he stated.
