The Nigeria Police Force has formally concluded the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) “Asaba 2026” at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, bringing to a close a week of athletic excellence, institutional cohesion, and professional discipline.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, described the tournament as a defining institutional moment where competition revealed character. He stated that what began as a convergence of Commands and Formations has matured into a powerful demonstration of unity, resilience, and shared purpose.

IGP Egbetokun also noted that the theme, “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action,” was seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the Games, manifesting through mutual respect among the competitors. He emphasised that the physical discipline of sports directly translates to operational readiness and better service delivery.
While declaring the Games closed, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday John Onyeme, FCA, PhD, commended the Nigeria Police Force for demonstrating discipline, dignity, and dedication beyond the badge. He reaffirmed Delta State’s commitment to supporting sports as a vehicle for unity, youth development, and national progress.

The ceremony featured the football finals, frisbee demonstration, tug-of-war finals, 4X100 relay races, invitational events among sister agencies, and a closing concert. At the end of the games, Force Headquarters emerged overall champion, with Zone 2 Lagos and Zone 9 placing second and third, respectively.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to carrying forward the unity, discipline, and resilience displayed in Asaba into policing duties nationwide.
