Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has revealed reasons behind the country’s new passport reforms, saying it is necessary to stop non-Nigerians from carrying Nigerian passports.
“We have to introduce this new system in order to stop those non-Nigerians carrying Nigerian passports,” Hon Tunji-Ojo said. “The new process is working very effectively and hiccups recorded is only 4 per cent, which is significant improvement for a system that is newly introduced and I assure you that in the next one or two weeks we will have near perfect system.”
“The new system has improved accessibility, transparency and efficiency,” Tunji-Ojo said. “We are committed to making things better in our country, and that includes ensuring the security of our nation.”
