KASU Hosts NYSC Agro-Allied CDS Youth-Led Tree Planting Campaign.

Kaduna State University (KASU) will on September 9th, 2025 play host to a NYSC-youth led tree planting campaign organized by the Kaduna North Agro-Allied Community Development Service (CDS) group. The project aims to tackle environmental degradation and promote sustainable development in Kaduna State.

The initiative, Adopt-A-Tree, is implemented by corps members of the Agro-Allied CDS in partnership with the Centre for Biosecurity, Biosafety, Infectious Disease and One Health (CEBBIDOH) Kaduna State University.

Speaking ahead of the event, the CDS President – Usman Muhammad] and the Project Director – Emmanuel Ibukun Medessou stressed that the campaign is about more than just planting trees:
“This is a NYSC and Agro-Allied CDS-driven initiative. We are investing in the future of Kaduna. By planting trees, we are combating climate change, improving public health, and empowering students and communities to become active environmental stewards.”

The tree planting drive will bring together corps members, students, staff of KASU, and community stakeholders. It also aligns with Kaduna State’s broader commitment to climate resilience, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

Stakeholders and the public are invited to attend the event and join in the collective effort to secure a greener, healthier Kaduna for generations to come.
