Sounds crazy right?

In our football banter group created by Egbon Ganzalo (we call it football banter) on WhatsApp, a place where we get to taunt, laugh and banter our favorite football teams on their successes, challenges, history and shortcomings; came this recommendation of a film, I mean a movie that the group should see but in retrospect it was more than a film but a deeper look into life, family, business and one’s life race and choices…

The name of the movie is F1 The Film with the famous Brad Pitt (Is there no one else from the film Troy and Damon Idris from the Popular crime drama, Snowfall) that combo did justice to the lessons they intended to pass across.

And they sure did…

Before I proceed, credit to Hans Zimmer. His sound effect were like he’s conducting your pulse, hitting every beat of tension and triumph.

Before I started the film, I put it on my WhatsApp status asking if the film was worth the hype, and one of my Aburos at Digify Bytes, said the film was even used in their Monday meetings as a team review. (I have attached a screenshot to this effect).

If you are looking for a film/story that teaches teamwork, sacrifice, resilience for teens, young people, high fliers and adults, look no further

I went in with medium expectations cos’ hey ‘Brad Pitt Dey the film na’ but omo I was blown away.

This isn’t just another racing flick with fast cars and slick tracks. Nah, F1 Le Film dives deep into the grind, the heart, and the soul of what it takes to chase a dream while keeping your team tight.

Brad Pitt’s character, a washed-up driver with more scars than trophies, brings this raw energy; mentoring a young, fiery talent played by Damson Idris.

Their chemistry? Electric.

It’s like watching a veteran striker pass the ball to a young gun for the winning goal, only to realize the real victory is the bond they built.

The film doesn’t shy away from showing the messy side of ambition—ego clashes, sacrifices that sting, and moments where losing a race somehow wins you something bigger.

The visuals? Man, they make you feel like you’re strapped into the driver’s seat, heart pounding as the tires screech.

There’s this one scene, no spoilers, but let’s just say it had me gripping my seat, rethinking every life choice I ever made. It’s not just about crossing the finish line; it’s about who you become on the way there.

For real, this movie is a masterclass in showing how teamwork isn’t just about winning but about lifting each other up when the stakes are high and low .

Whether you’re a teenager figuring out your path, a young hustler chasing dreams, or an adult navigating life’s curveballs, F1 Le Film hits you right in the feels. It’s a reminder that sometimes, slowing down to get it right makes you faster in the end.

It is a story of redemption; Of second, third and fourth beginnings and never forgetting why you started.

So, grab your popcorn, rally your squad, and watch this one. It’s a vibe, a lesson, and a whole mood. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

“I guess I will be seeing you down the road then,”
