ABU Zaria honors students conferred with NYSC Presidential Awards

Four students of Ahmadu Bello University ABU Zaria who bagged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Presidential Awards were today honored by the institution.

The students were among the 110 recipients of the NYSC Presidential Awards for 2020 by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

Receiving the students in his office today, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who presented a letter of commendation to each of them, thanked the students for making the University proud

We welcome you back home; and on behalf of the Management, staff, and students of Ahmadu Bello University, we wish to thank you immensely for making us proud.

“You have stood out so conspicuously. For your own information, we announced the feat at the Senate meeting yesterday for all of us to celebrate,” he said

The Dean, Student Affairs Division, Prof. Muhammad Yakasai Fatihu; Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof. Ahmed D. Ibrahim, and Director, Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring, Prof. Yahaya Makarfi Ibrahim, also congratulated the students.

The students are Yusuf Abubakar (Political Science), Ibrahim Usman (Electrical Engineering), Ishaku Gambo (Statistics), and Ayodele Olubusayo (Biology Education).

They bagged the presidential awards on account of their outstanding performance during their community service in their respective places of primary assignment.

According to a statement from the ABU Public Affairs Directorate, the Vice-Chancellor presented to each of them a congratulatory note he personally signed on behalf of the University in appreciation of the feat achieved.
